Hendrix's Anthem Finds Sincerity Finally
Jimi Hendrix.The Cultural Anti War Icon of the Vietnam War. Well I was just a tiny toddler.But Never was I Offended at His Version of the National Anthem as was the Elders of that time. With the new Spanish Anthem I think Jimi's Version is shown now for what it is,nothing more than his Version done on guitar and quite brilliantly I might add. Never did I find it to be offensive,or disrespectful of America. I thought it was Genius how he eloquently portrayed the Anthem single handedly with no backup and completely in every aspect of the song,nothing missing....Who else can do that but not a gifted guitarist of very high porportion.As Patriotic as I am,I think as you can read here,theres not many more so,I have never ever been offended by it. At the time I thought Jimi was doing his bit and shoving it to his fans personally,showing his American support.
Jimi's personal friends will say different but Jimi is not alive today to say what he really meant is he? Jimi plays Berkley-No sign of Anti Americanness.Jimis involvement with the Black Panthers,never was Anti American or Anti War to me,it was simply his way of saying -Don't tread on my Race just as much as we wish don't tread on the flag.
To me,the left,the anti War and the spin of the day,hijacked Jimi's music like they do a 10 year school child they do today. Clearly to have been offended by Jimi's version you had to be so uptight about any mention of Dissent you would have burned a Sad Sack comic and beat the person reading it hence you had come across the situation. Yes the innocence that was I at 5 years old I found Glee in Jimi Hendrix's version and was a Fan from the first incarnation of it.
Today I wonder if Kids feel the same at this new Spanish version..In what offended me so,I cannot find any comparrison with Hendrix's version as some have compared this day. No,to me singing the Anthem in a different language,changing the beat and the words - IS BY FAR FAR MORE OFFFENSIVE...
In fact the creativity is so lame,and such a bastardization of musicianship - I DEMAND IT NOT BE MENTIONED IN THE SAME PARAGRAPH PLEASE!!!
You see,Jimi Hendrix was a American...Jimi Hendrix was one of the most talented guitarists of his time and still is out time,there is no comparrision to his dedication to America to a bastardization of what is this piece of Crap called Conquisitadors Hymanal De Toiletee...
But then again,the anti war left of the 60's actually had tons more respect than they do today. The difference is amazing,maybe the Acid helped them understand a bit more and left them too buzzed to offend,but I truly feel the anti americanness has never reached the high it has today..On less drugs ..
You see,Jimi played a instrument,he was showing his talent to a extent he had not even reached on machine gun..He was not simply crapping on the anthem as these Spanish Non Americans do today. Looking back you much see the harmless version was nothing more than his display of finger flailing and creative use of the whammy bar to create a dive Bomb sound...I mean,was that SIMPLE dive bomb as offensive as some Non English son of a BBBBB bastardizing out anthem? NOT EVEN CLOSE....
And to me,Jimi Hendrix was NEVER - ANTI AMERICAN....As a child,I was never offended...Today as a English speaking child-I am sure I would be offended by the language of SPAIN,the gobbly goo,the twisted Chicken cackling,the complete Latin Blur of English is by far more offensive...
Now this point leads me to the origin of a British Producer of this bastardization of a Song.Soemthing tells me he hates America for stealing the English language. Maybe he ancestor was slaughtered by George Washington himself or maybe he was just a Itiot red coat who died in training for the Revolutionary war..Who know,I am sure he will never admit his true intent.But we did his weasel A55 quoting in the media today-He would never offend Americans on purpose.. Tell me you can't tell he is nothing but a Liar and should be shot full of lead like a Anti American Terrorist and I will tell you-You're full of 5hit....So listen Mr. Redcoat and Listen you Espanolo morons of conquistador dedication knee jerkish nowits,realize what you are..Look at yourself in the mirror..Why are you speaking Spanish??
